Dr. James Jackson, DO

Dr. Jackson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in sports medicine. He completed his fellowship at the renowned Houston Methodist hospital, where he honed his skills working with professional athletes from the Houston Astros, Texans, and Rice Owls. He had the honor of serving as part of the Astros medical team at the inaugural MLB Baseball Combine.  His diverse experience also includes caring for high school athletes and evaluating NASA astronauts.

Now practicing in Lake Charles, Dr. Jackson brings his expertise to athletes of all levels. He collaborates with Calcasieu Parish high schools, providing comprehensive orthopedic care.  He is on the medical staff at McNeese State University. Passionate about helping patients regain their active lifestyles, Dr. Jackson specializes in cartilage restoration, ligament reconstruction, and tendon repair. He utilizes cutting-edge techniques, including advanced planning for complex shoulder replacements, to ensure the best possible outcomes.

When he's not helping patients get back in the game, you can find Dr. Jackson enjoying the Louisiana outdoors with his wife, two children, and their Brittany. He's an avid hiker (Glacier NP and Big Bend NP are his favorites) and enthusiastic supporter of local sports.
